Band aides, naps and green beans

December 3- My first attempt at homemade baby food- green beans.  I thought I did good, but Der wouldnt eat them.  They are a little chunky...maybe the next try will go better :) 

December 2- Der loves his Aunt Kathryn!  He very sweetly fell asleep in her arms during our coffee date :)  She is going to make a great mom one day!

December 1- Family Fun Night- what a good boy to let mommy and daddy have more of a date night!  So sweet!

November 30- Der's 6 month check up (notice the sad face and cute band-aides).  Weighing in at 14lbs 12 oz (he is still a skinny mini) and measuring 26 3/4 inches (and still tall).  He did better with his shots this time and I think I did better too :)

6 Months- I still hardly believe it!

November 29- MY BABY IS 6 MONTHS OLD!  I decided that we should start a new tradition....celebrating 1/2 birthdays with cupcakes.  Too bad Der couldn't partake this time, but I have a feeling our kids will like this tradition!  These last 6 months have been so delightful for Ryan and I!  I had no idea that I had such a capacity to love someone else!  He has won my heart over and over with the adorable faces, sweet laughter, and charming smiles!  This little boy loves life and has brought so much richness to ours!  His favorite activities include: playing with daddy, flying around the house, kicking all the bubbles and water out of the bath, splashing daddy, doing sit ups, singing while rocking, eating pears and bananas, nursing, being a momma's boy, snuggling, reading (he is starting to LOVE this), listening to daddy play guitar and singing along,  horsey rides, pig noises, giggling at mommy's ticklish hair, having meals as a family, banging  on everything, "tasting" anything within his reach, and charming our visitors.  He still dislikes: the car till he falls asleep, keeping his socks on, peek-a-boo (he looses interest, but my dad keeps trying), being on his tummy (will he ever crawl?),  and when his mommy leaves.  Little boy, I have loved watching you learn and grow and I count every moment that I have you as a gift, may God bless us with many many more moments!

November 28- This kid looks too cute in hats!

Thanksgiving...and with so much to be thankful for!

Our Thanksgiving feast was so sweet for Ryan and I.  To have both of our families together to celebrate was very special!  We are so grateful that this has become a tradition!

Der's yummy thanksgiving feast... oatmeal and sweet potatoes. 

There were too many great pictures to choose from, I couldn't choose just one a day...so this should cover November 24-27.  During this season of thanksgiving, I was overwhelmed by God's goodness, that we would be so richly blessed with such a great family. We are especially thankful for our sweet baby boy, who was brought us immeasurable joy over the last 6 months!  Having my own child has helped me to better understand the infinite love God has for us, his children.  I am overwhelmed with gratitude this year!

November 16- One of my favorite date nights to Simply Fondue (our first time to ever have fondue!)  The peanut butter chocolate dessert fondue was AMAZING!

November 10- Der is excited to be in a big boy high chair (thanks Nonna).  We call this his "King Tut Chair" Now we can all eat meals together, one of my favorite things!

November 8- My mom came up for a few days to help out- the three of us had a great time!

November 5- My baby's first tooth (hard to see, but geeeez that thing is sharp!)

November 4- I am trying to get Der on a more regular routine...so I wrote out his "ideal schedule"...and when I showed it to him, he tried to eat it.  Probably not a good sign...

November 3- YUCK! 

November 2- His newest move of sticking his tongue out could get him into trouble it he's not careful!

November 1- Der is now fascinated with drinking.  We have been letting him have sips of water from a cup/

October 31- Our trick or treaters were greeted by this little cutie!  We couldn't believe we ran out of candy before 8:00, even after a quick trip to the store for 6 more bags.  With this being our first year in a house, we were so excited to have so many kids come by!  We will be more prepared next year.

October 30- All ready for the Rangers game!

October 29- We had some unplanned excitement!  Ryan, the mechanic, has been doing all kinds of stuff to maintain our cars.  On the agenda today was to flush the break fluid, which we thought went smoothly... till he needed the brakes to keep the car from running into the house.  It could have been much worse...like if he had put it in reverse.  Even still, I am very proud of Ryan for learning how to do all these things himself.
